On June 15, 2026, Murchison, Taylor & Gibson attorney, Faison Gibson, was reappointed by the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners to serve a second four-year term on the New Hanover County Airport Authority which owns and operates Wilmington International Airport (ILM).  Ms. Gibson was also elected by the Board to serve as Vice-Chair of the Authority.

During Ms. Gibson’s first term, ILM has experienced record-setting growth, including a 66% increase in passenger enplanements. The Authority is also overseeing major capital improvement projects, including the construction of a new parking garage and redesigned terminal curb front.
