Mr. Holmes is primarily involved in business transactions, with a focus on commercial and residential real estate acquisition, development, leasing, sale, and finance. He has represented clients in the sale and purchase of raw land and improved property, the completion of mortgage loans and secured credit facilities, the leasing of office, retail, industrial and general commercial space, and the development of commercial and residential property, including subdivisions and condominiums. Some larger projects he has assisted with include the workout and unwind of a synthetic lease structure for a headquarters building, and development of a 1,000 megawatt natural gas fired co-generation power plant. Locally he is involved in developments and real estate projects throughout New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender Counties, and also has experience with local land use issues, including rezoning and special use proceedings. Prior to joining Murchison, Taylor & Gibson, PLLC, Mr. Holmes practiced commercial real estate law at firms located in downtown Houston and Chicago.
