Scott M. Holmes specializes in commercial and residential real estate transactions, with experience in acquisition, development, leasing, sales, financing, and securing entitlements, including for raw land. He is involved with projects throughout North Carolina, focusing on New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. He has extensive experience with local land use, including rezoning and special use proceedings. His work spans land sales, mortgage loans, commercial leasing, and the development of both residential and commercial properties. He also advises developers and homeowners’ associations on community covenants, disputes, and transitions.

- Representation of developers of large scale planned unit developments for numerous subdivisions.
- $54.5 million acquisition financing for a mixed use project encompassing approximately 40 acres, representing the lender.
- $29.5 million acquisition of a portfolio of retail shopping centers across multiple states, representing the buyer/developer.
- $27 million joint venture for a multifamily apartment development, representing the landowner.
- $25 million credit facility secured by multiple retail commercial buildings, representing the owner/borrower.
- $23 million financing for phased acquisition of multiple residential builder lots encompassing approximately 500 acres, representing the borrower/developer.
- Landlord representation for a lease of 400,000 square feet for tenant’s headquarters location.
- Simultaneous foreclosure of facilities in seven counties relating to a $56 million loan by a health care lender.
- Developer acquisition of properties ranging from raw, rural land to major commercial office buildings, several golf courses, packages of convenience stores, and numerous other projects.
- Lender representation in secured loans, ranging from less than $1 million to $50 million and more.
